The Canvas

What is the canvas?

Each board has an infinite canvas. Frames float here, and you can pan and zoom freely. Think of it like a scrapbook.

Navigation

• Pan: Two-finger swipe on trackpad, or click + drag with mouse
• Zoom: Command + Scroll or use the +- in the toolbar

Frames

Each shoe design on the canvas is a frame. When you generate a new version (outline, styled, render), a new frame appears to the right of the source. This keeps your design lineage visible. Click a frame to select it. Drag it to reposition. Frame positions save automatically.

Moving frames

Simply drag and drop frames to move them.

Adding shoes

You can add shoes to your canvas by either:

• Click Add Shoe in the top bar.
• Drag + drop files from your computer or elsewhere online.

Any shoe photo works. Clean, well-lit images give the best results for AI generation.

Selecting multiple shoes

You can select multiple shoes at once to make bulk edits:

• Hold Shift + Drag to lasso select.
• Hold Shift + Click any other frame to add it to your selection.
• Use the controls beside your selection to align, distribute, reorder, or create a section.

Mark up the canvas

The canvas is useful for thinking out loud. Choose Shapes in the toolbar to add a rectangle, circle, line, arrow, or freehand mark.

Select a mark to change its color, fill, and line weight. Use marks to call out a panel, sketch a direction, or leave a clear note for the next person who opens the board.

Comment on the canvas

Choose Comment, then click a design or any open space on the canvas. Write your note where it matters, use @ to mention a teammate, and attach a file when a picture says it better.

Reply in the thread as the work develops. When a decision is made, resolve the thread. You can reopen it later if the design changes.

Keep finished items in place

Select one or more frames or marks, open ..., and choose Lock. A locked item stays in place while you arrange the rest of the board. You can still style it and comment on it.

Choose Unlock from the same menu when you need to move or resize it again.

Use Tools

Use the inline controls beside your selection to adjust what you are working on. Depending on the selection, you can change color, fill, line weight, text size, alignment, distribution, and layer order.

From the toolbar, use prompt, fuse, and more to keep developing the design.
